Aston Villa welcome Leicester in their English Premier League campaign at the Villa Park on Saturday, Jan. 16, starting 5.30 PM GMT.
Leicester went back to winning ways in their last game against Tottenham Hotspur. They now level the points table but remain at number two next to table toppers Arsenal. Their 1-0 win on Wednesday will boost their confidence immensely. Winning the Premier League is not unthinkable now.
Claudio Ranieri’s men have been playing some top notch football this season which is quite a contrast to Aston Villa’s performance in the Premier League. As per the MLSGB report, the hosts are lying at the bottom of the table.
Aston Villa have only managed to only gain 11-points since August and they must win on Saturday to avoid further slump.
The source quotes, “Villa picked up their first league win since August on Tuesday night and their first under Rémi Garde. Although it’s a relief their three points have finally come there is much work to be done for Garde and co.”
Injuries are not helping Villa either. Alan Hutton, Jack Grealish, Jordan Amavi and Gabriel Agbonlahor are yet to recover from their respective injuries. It will be quite difficult for Garde to pick the right combination against the high flying Leicester City.
Leicester’s top man Jamie Vardy did start the proceedings against Aston Villa last Wednesday. Though injury concerns continue to put him in doubt for the upcoming clash, he is likely to start against the Villa side too.
According to Four Four Two, James Matthew and Jeffrey Schlupp are unlikely to fit into the team combination for Leicester on Saturday.
