Monday is not as dreary as it usually is as Rihanna premiered her new music video “Work” with the singer and her former flame Drake grinding all over each other.
The video is eight minutes long as it combined two videos in one. The song plays twice with Rihanna and Drake starring in two different videos.
Check out the video below.
The first video directed by “Hotline Bling” Director X showed Rihanna and Drake dancing with each other in a crowded bar. The second part is steamier than the first one.
The video begins as soon as the song ends and leads to another music video. Rihanna and Drake are in an empty room, with her wearing nothing but a super short skirt and sheer, flimsy top and nothing underneath. Her nipples are totally visible through the ensemble. This time, she’s showing off her dance moves only for Drake and he’s watching in awe from a couch behind her.
The part two is directed by Swedish director Tim Erem whose past work includes videos for Major Lazer and Tove Lo. The second part was just supposed to be a small portion of the original video.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Erem shares the process of making the second video in the pink room., “You just put them in front of the camera and they’re like the two coolest, most interesting artists you can see.”
“You just put them in front of the camera and they’re like the two coolest, most interesting artists you can see,” he said. “Doing this with someone else would be the most boring video you’ve ever seen. But these two artists can carry a whole video in one setup.”
“Work,” featuring Drake, is the first single from her long-awaited Anti which officially debuted on Tidal January 28 after months of delay.
The pair has appeared together previously in the videos for the title track of Drake’s 2012 album Take Care and “What’s My Name?” for Rihanna’s 2010 album Loud.
