The “Doctor Who” spin-off series, “Class,” has a new cast member. She has been a part of famous projects such as the “Harry Potter” movies and “Hollyoaks.”

Anna Shaffer played Romilda Vane in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” and both installments of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows.” She starred in “Hollyoaks” as Ruby Button. Shaffer now joins the cast of “Class,” a “Doctor Who” spin-off.

According to the Huffington Post, the details about her role in “Class” are still a mystery. However, she is roped in to play a character named Rachel in the series. “Class” also stars Katherine Kelly who has starred in “Coronation Street” and the recently popular spy drama, “The Night Manager.” Actors Greg Austin, Sophie Hopkins, Fady Elsayed and Vivian Oparah too join the “Class” cast.

Express UK informs that “Class” has been dubbed as the British version of the popular American show “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

The show is set in Coal Hill School in contemporary London. While Shaffer’s exact role is not known so far, the other actors excluding Kelly play the role of sixth-formers. Another Huffington Post report states that Steven Moffat, the previous “Doctor Who” showrunner, was excited to meet the stars for a dark and spin-off off.

“There’s nothing more exciting than meeting stars that nobody’s heard of yet. We had the read-through of the first few episodes last week, and there was a whole row of them. Coal Hill School has been part of ‘Doctor Who’ since the very first shoot in 1963, but this new show is anything but history,” said Moffat about the stars and the series.

“‘Class’ is dark and sexy and right now. I’ve always wondered if there could be a British Buffy – it’s taken the brilliant Patrick Ness to figure out how to make it happen,” he added.
