Although Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo dating rumors have been dispelled by the actors’ reps, many are still convinced that the two South Korean stars are together in real life after appearing in the hit KBS drama series Descendants of the Sun. The actor once again revived speculations when he spoke about his dating style in a recent interview.
In the cover story for the June issue of Harper’s Bazaar China, Song revealed that he is nothing like his romantic Descendants of the Sun character Yoo Si Jin.
“I don’t think a guy like Yoo Si Jin exists in the world. I’m just a normal guy who is old-fashioned and a bit serious,” said Song, as quoted by Soompi.
The 30-year-old heartthrob is probably one of the most sought-after bachelors in Asia, with legions of female fans showering him with love at his jam-packed fan meetings across the region. When asked about his dating style, he stated that he prefers to keep things private.
“My dating style is not that special. But I have no plans to go public if I get into a relationship,” revealed the actor, according to Drama Fever. “I will do my best to preserve the emotion for the person that I like, but I also want to keep it a secret for that person.”
He added that he would not wear a hat when out with his would-be girlfriend to avoid suspicion and would rather go on dates in remote areas.
With that said, fans can’t help but wonder if Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are actually in a secret relationship, considering that the actor has a well-thought out plan when it comes to dating under the radar.
It can be recalled that the Descendants of the Sun cast members were spotted hanging out in New York and Hong Kong together. The onscreen couple denied any romance between them in real life, explaining that they’re just close friends.
Song Hye Ky and Song Joong Ki reunited at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards in Seoul on June 3, Friday. The rumored couple arrived holding hands and greeted the fans warmly. Descendants of the Sun won the Grand Prize in the television category, while Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo won Most Popular Male and Female, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Descendants of the Sun finale aired in April with a 38.8 percent national viewership rating in South Korea. All three Descendants of the Sun special episodes also scored high ratings.
