Ryan Reynolds has his eyes set on “X-Force,” with the actor making it clear that the project sits at the top of his priority list.

It looks like if “Deadpool” would be charging ahead, Reynolds would like to further explore the “X-Men” universe and definitely take the dive into the very attractive “X-Force” brand. In a recent interview, as noted by Inquisitr, Ryan Reynolds shared his thoughts on “X-Force” and the existence of “Deadpool” as well as the character’s influence.

He also mentioned that if there were to be more “Deadpool” movies then the “X-Men” would definitely be explored further, but “X-Force” would be his priority. Reynolds said, “There’s so much material to mine in just the X-Men universe. In the future, if we’re doing a bunch more ‘Deadpool’ movies, we’re really going to explore the X-Men a lot. We’ll see. And maybe X-Force — X-Force is my priority.”

In a previous interview with Cinema Blend, Ryan Reynolds had also mentioned why it would be great for Cable to lead the X-Force team. He said, “I always see Deadpool running against the grain for everything he does. He can’t possibly conform to any sort of leadership role. He always has to be the wild card. So you’d have to have someone like Cable running point on a team like X-Force. I’d love for that to be a next step that we take.” The actor does make a point, and there is a lot of scope for the team to expand further with the likes of Psyclocke, Colossus, Cyclops, Wolverine amongst others also becoming the part of the “X-Force” project, which will naturally amp up the excitement further.

“X-Force” is yet to receive a release date; the writers include Jeff Wadlow, Rob Liefeld, and Fabian Nicieza, while Lauren Shuler Donner will be wearing the producer’s hat. But fans can catch “Deadpool,” which will be hitting theatres on February 12.
