The new Under Armor Curry 2 Low “Essential” is about to hit stores on Saturday (March 5).
The “Essential” is the next model to release endorsed by All-Star point guard Stephen Curry.
The sneakers do depart from Golden State theme as it goes for an all-purpose black and metallic silver, Sneaker News wrote.
Sneaker Files added the latest UA Curry model uses a simple theme of a white color combination. It uses black through the base while the overlay that wraps the heel and runs through the mudguard comes in grey. The outsole, meanwhile, has a white finished, the site added.
Meanwhile, Sneaker Files wrote in a separate report that Curry did not leave Nike because of religious belief.
There have been stories that went viral on social media recently, stating that the NBA star left Nike for Under Armour because Nike would not allow him to do what he wants on his shoes.
It seems that it was not the true reason.
Curry’s contract with Nike is set to expire, Sneaker File noted. Apparently, the sports apparel company offered him less than $2.5 million a year, while he was reportedly offered less than $4 million a year in Under Armour. Rumours indicated that Curry gave Nike a chance to match the UA offer but it declined.
It was also previously reported that the Golden State Warriors point-guard has recently purchased a $3.2 million home in Walnut Creek, California.
The LA Times describes the house as “set on about an acre, the two-story Mediterranean estate was built in 2012 and has a gated motor court and a formal courtyard entry. Nearly 8,000 square feet of open-plan space includes a two-story foyer that opens to a step-down living room and an adjacent dining room area. A center-island kitchen and family room area sit off the foyer.”
