Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is not finished stacking up titles, awards and accolades. Apart from those that he’s gathered on the football pitch, the Portugal captain also showed off his skills on the poker table. He recently engaged in a one-on-one duel with Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul in a charity poker match arranged by PokerStars.

As part of a web series produced by PokerStars, Cristiano Ronaldo and Aaron Paul went head-to-head in a poker duel for charity. Europe’s best player of the year chose to play for Right to Play, a foundation that focuses on helping underprivileged children through sports. Meanwhile, Aaron Paul, an actor from the popular series Breaking Bad, opted to play for Save the Children.

After an intense competition on the table, Ronaldo came out on top. He won US$ 15,000 for his chosen charity. The Right To Play website states that the foundation “transforms the lives of over one million disadvantaged children every week across Africa, the Middle East and Asia through the power of sport and play.” The group also provides education and encourages children from conflict areas to overcome their situation.

“I love the surge of excitement you get when challenging others, which is one of the main reasons I love poker so much. It provides me with a thrill that I normally only feel on the football pitch. The duels were challenging but also really fun,” said Ronaldo, after revealing his talents outside the pitch. It is clear that his talents go beyond football, and he’s been keeping his competitive edge even while he’s been sidelined due to injury.

Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo and Aaron Paul, other stars participated in the PokerStars charity webseries. The Daily Mail named other participants as FC Barcelona and Brazil National Team winger Neymar, Star Wars actor John Boyega, Victoria’s Secret model Sara Sampaio and Miss World Mireia Lalaguna Royo.
