If Game 1 of the Cricket All Stars series brought back memories of Cricket’s glorious past, Game 2 was even better. Glenn McGrath opened the bowling for Sachin’s Blasters while Ricky Ponting was at his usual best. Game 2 had all the features of an exciting T20 clash.

Kumar Sangakara had an amazing run; scoring 70 runs of just 30 balls to take Warne’s Warriors to a mammoth total of 262 in just 20 overs. Mathew Hayden, Michael Vaughan and Jaques Kallis all played their part. Ponting looked like he never left cricket at all and picked up right from where he had left, the ESPNCricinfo reported.

According to Total Sportek, Sachin’s Blasters fell short of chasing such a huge total and eventually gave in to the brilliant bowling from the opposite end. Whatever the case might be, we all had the thrills and joy of watching our all time favorite players at the Minute Maid Park in Houston.

Shane Warne and Sachin Tendulkar had expected a certain standard for the game before their first encounter in the Cricket All Stars series. They must feel extremely satisfied having things perfectly executed at the Citi Field in New York after putting together months of planning and Hard Work.

The first game had an amazing response from the stands. During the post match-ceremony Warne said, “I think it showcased the game of cricket really, really well and that’s the one thing.”

“Some people have been skeptical about it and said, ‘How are all of these retired players going to play?’ You saw the standard of play.”
