Suarez loses temper
Luis Suarez, reportedly ineligible for the match after being put on injured, was livid when Uruguay used its third substitute on someone other than him, the Guardian reports.
Earlier, Suarez was shown suiting up and warming up throughout the second half. However, Uruguay manager Oscar Tabarez went with Mathias Corujo instead.
Suarez was seen gesturing to the manager and punching the side of the dugout.
“There is no situation. The situation is what I told you. The player is not ready to play,” said Uruguay Coach Oscar Tabarez.
“This is an issue about numbers and doctors. Even if the player is upset, I’m not going to play a player who is not 100%. If he got upset, that is something I was not aware of. He didn’t tell me anything,” Tabarez said further.
