The Champions league knock out stages is finally here. Take a good look at the top 16 teams and their chances of lifting the European championship on May 28 in Milan.

  1. Barcelona: The Catalonian team is in terrific form. They now have 30 wins in a row under their belt. Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Luiz Surez have together formed the most lethal attack in the club football. According to CNN, they have been consistent right through every season which took them to five title wins last year. With their current form they look unstoppable at this moment.
  2. Real Madrid: Cristiano Ronaldo’s form has been quite erratic lately. Even Karim Benzema and Luka Modric have not been able to strike good form. Zinedine Zidane have carried the baton forward for Madrid and will surely look to make the most out of his new venture.
  3. Bayern Munich: No matter which list you out on, if there is Bayern Munich mentioned anywhere, they are sure to be hot favourites. As per the TSN reports, they continue to be one of the best in the European League and one of the top contenders to win the Championship. They can easily move up the ladder with their only challenge being Juventus.
  4. Atletico Madrid: They continue to be among the top spots in the La Liga charts and Diego Simeone’s men are considered to be among the most organised and gives balanced attacks.
  5. Paris Saint Germain: Zlatan Ibrahimovic looks to tackle any hurdle coming in between his club and the European Championship. They have conquered all their domestic opponents and look forward to receive the same fate in the Champions League.
  6. Chelsea: They are looking much better under interim coach Guus Hiddink. The club went through quite a tumultuous phase under Jose Mourinho but their feet look firmly on the ground. De Costa and Fabregas have been in good form lately.
  7. Manchester City: Sergio Aguero is their most valuable player this season and their coach Manuel Pellegrini will be looking to win the championship before leaving the club this summer.
  8. Wolfsburg: They have been impressive in the group stages and are hoping to continue their form in the knock-out stages too.
  9. Zenit: They are the only team to win their first five matches in the group stages. Being the lone Russian team in the rankings, they have a point to prove.
  10. Benfica: They have a great chance of succeeding to the quarter finals as they have been in fine form this domestic season.
  11. Dynamo Keiv: They have the experience to pose resistance against the Man City attack. They gained vital points against Porto and Chelsea  and look forward to making their chances in the knock out stages.
  12. Juventus: We all know what Juventus can do to beat the best. They are not intimated by the Germans and will take motivations from last year’s performance.
  13. PSV Eindhoven: They will go all out against Atletico Madrid as they have nothing to lose in the Championship.
  14. Arsenal: Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Laurent Koscielny and Petr Cech have been in prime form and Arsene Wenger looks for a more positive approach.
  15. Roma: They have not been quite consistent with their performances and confronting a team like Real Madrid in the knock out stages is an uphill task for them.
  16. Gent: The Belgian team had a terrific run last year and look to continue with their form this season, too.
