“A Boy and his Blob” is gearing up to arrive for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platforms by the end of this month. This delightful platform-puzzle is a remake of the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System of the same title.

As noted by Digital Trends, the original title landed for NES in 1990 and the developer WayForward held on to the basic framework when the game was released for the Nintendo Wii in 2009.

“A Boy and his Blob” won many hearts with its innovative gameplay and now the boy along with his jelly-bean eating extra-terrestrial friend are jumping back on the scene again. As noted by IGN, the players work out numerous ways to keep feeding the blob jelly beans in order to transform it into various tools which is required to get through to the next level. The alien blob has come to earth to seek help from the clutches of an evil emperor. They need the help of the young boy living in a place aptly dubbed as Blobolonia, .

The title has all the levels and much of the content intact that ardent gamers appreciated in the original Wii title. However, as of now there is no word from publisher Majesco, with regards to any plans about new additions and developments to the title.

The announcement about the game arriving for  Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC was made after months of speculations over the franchise. The publisher dropped a hint about the upcoming title back in August 2015 and word about subsequent plans for the title to be releasing on different platforms began to do the rounds.

Publisher Majesco had indicated at the revival of the title and now avid gamers won’t have to wait long. “A Boy and his Blob” will be arriving digitally for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 19 January, 2016. It is noteworthy that those who get their hands on the PS4 edition will also be entitled to receive a free PS Vita port. The PC version of the title will be rolled out digitally through Steam and GOG.com.
