Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s friendship is rumoured to have been threatened by a bitter verbal battle. The BFFs are reportedly at odds over their alter egos Batman and Jason Bourne.

“Matt is going around saying this all over the place but not to my face. But Matt can’t even beat me up, never mind Batman. You know what I’m saying? He has a long way to go,” Affleck told E! News.

“They’re just finishing the Bourne movie now when we have our premiere over in London. I’ll see Matt and he can take me up on it.”

Affleck responded to Damon’s earlier comments. His BFF was in the middle of promotions for his movie “The Martian” when asked if Jason Bourne could take on Batman.

Damon said Jason Bourne was going to “kick the s**t out of Batman—absolutely!”

“Batman’s gotta take on Superman first. If he could beat him then maybe he could take on Jason Bourne,” He added.

Both actors looked equally buffed in their respective roles. Hence, they could possibly take each other on.

The war of words between the two is of course all in good fun. E! News also asked Damon if he’s heard Affleck’s voice as Batman.

“I haven’t been like, ‘Come on, dude, just do it once’, I haven’t asked him to talk Batman yet, but now maybe I will,” the actor laughingly said.

Damon counts Affleck as one of his oldest friends in the industry. Ricky Gervais also pointed out that he was “the only person who Ben Affleck hasn’t been unfaithful to” during the 2016 Golden Globes.

Complex noted that should the two fight, it would end up in a hug. “They are bromance at its finest”, the website added.

Ben Affleck’s movie Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theatres on March 25. Matt Damon’s movie Jason Bourne premieres on July 29.
