“Batman vs Superman” director Zack Snyder just teased major details on the upcoming DC film. Fans can now look forward to a bigger villain, and a movie trilogy!
In an interview with Obsev, Snyder was asked if “Batman vs Superman” will launch a movie trilogy. The director dished that it would lead to “bigger things,” including a “bigger villain.” Cinema Blend noted that the “Dawn of Justice” part of the title is already a foreshadowing.
“Well, listen, we’re working on Justice League right now, right? In a weird way, Justice League is the next step for these characters to form a bigger team. Maybe there’s a bigger enemy to fight?”
According to Cinema Blend, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman will team up to fight against Doomsday. When “Justice League: Part One” comes out, the trio has been reported to work with Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern. The site mentioned that “Part Two” will likely bring back the main team but with additional characters.
Of course, Snyder didn’t reveal the big enemy that he’s been talking about. Nonetheless, there were already speculations on who could be the “big baddie” in the films. Although there are no confirmed reports, Movie Web reported that iconic villains Darkseid and Brainiac are being mentioned.
Earlier this week, a Reddit user dropped major spoilers on the upcoming DC film. The post mentioned the the first two acts of the film will tackle “Batman vs Superman.” And the last act which the user referred to as “mind blowing,” was entirely about “Dawn of Justice.”
By the end of the film, the post teased that fans can expect “a fully assembled” Justice League. With Snyder dropping hints on Justice League, don’t you think this Reddit user has some sort of basis for his claims?
And just like the Reddit user who claimed that Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne stood out, here’s what Snyder said:
“[Affleck] is an amazing Batman….He’s a great Batman.”
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” hits the big screen on March 25, 2016.
