Does Zack Snyder really want to quit as the director of the upcoming “Batman” solo movie? Would he rather have the movie’s star Ben Affleck direct it in his stead?

Snyder’s latest film, “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” was not exactly a favourite among critics. However, according to Heroic Hollywood, there were no complaints about Affleck’s performance as Batman. Even fans who were initially against his being cast as the Caped Crusader were reportedly “blown away.” Does this mean he also has what it takes to direct the solo “Batman” movie?

According to Collider, Snyder seems to think so. In a recent interview with, the director was asked if he thinks the actor could direct “Batman” himself. “Oh yeah, for sure,” Snyder said. “I think he would. I think that’s kind of the prerequisite, hopefully, for him doing [the film],” he explained.

It was earlier speculated that Affleck has already finished writing the script for the solo movie. However, this has yet to be confirmed. Even Snyder does not seem to think the actor has finished penning the screenplay.

“He’s always said he’s a one movie at a time guy. He’s finishing editing his film, ‘Live By Night.’ And then he comes to Justice League, and then after that, I think he’s going to try and develop the story. Then we’ll see if he likes it,” Snyder told

Affleck has previously directed three movies he starred in the past. One of them, “Argo,” even won him a Directors Guild of America Award for Best Director. He is currently working on “Live by Night,” which the actor also directed and co-wrote. This feature film is set to be released in 2017.

Do you think Ben Affleck should replace Zack Snyder as the director of the next “Batman” movie?
