For the fans of Bates Motel, there is something very interesting in store for Season 5. The spoiler has a surprise for them. Vera Farmiga gave a confirmation that Norma Bates will come back in a big way in Bates Motel Season 5. It won’t be wrong to assume that Norma’s return will promise crazier things.
During the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, Farmiga shared with Zap2it that although the end of Season 4 showed the death of Norma in the hands of Norman, she will be seen in new episodes next season. She also said that she conveyed to the producers of the show that she does not want her character’s association with the crazy incidents that are going to happen in the new season to be restricted or limited.
Talking more about the possibilities for the upcoming season, Farmiga also revealed that in comparison to earlier seasons than Bates Motel Season 5, Norma could be way crazier. “I think there’s going to be more liberties and lunacy, given the fact that she is a figment … a ghost that he’s creating,” she said.
Farmiga also added, “I think it’s going to continue being a playground. That was my biggest fear, she would be minimized. She was so robust, Norma Bates. I had no idea when I signed onto this that I would be singing and dancing and playing piano — being funny and being absurd. I had no idea that this female characterization embodied all of that,” reports Zap2it.
Norma’s resurgence from her death will bring nothing but a psychological series of weird incidents in Bates Motel Season 5. How this overprotective mother of Norman will behave in this upcoming season and keep the audience glued to the television screen will be seen next year. Bates Motel Season 5 is expected to premiere on A&E in March 2017.
