January Transfer Window difficult? Who said? At least Barcelona boss Luis Enrique wasn’t bothered about how difficult the first phase could be. The Catalonian side were on a signing spree.
You would expect rumors and speculations before the signings. But the Spanish Giants didn’t lose much time to get what they wanted or get everything that they hoped for. Metro Uk quoted, “It’s notoriously difficult signing players in the January transfer window – but try telling that to Spanish giants Barcelona.”
According to reports, the club was under a transfer ban for the last 14 months after breaching FIFA’s transfer code of signing players under the age of 18. Well, that seems to be over now and Luis Enrigue has signed up 77 new players in just one day.
After handsomely spending their signing amount on Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan and Sevilla defender Aleix Vidal, Barcelona went on to sign 75 new players. The critics believed that Barcelona did take tactful measures by signing players across all age groups. At least selection issue won’t be a problem each week.
Igor Bozinov took to twitter to post a list of all 77 players signed in the January transfer window.

Both Turan and Vidal were made to wait before their move which was “delayed by a further couple of days due to a Spanish bank holiday,” as per SUN reports. The midfielder and the defender had agreed to join Barcelona six months ago. Of course, the club didn’t lose much time in signing the duo but not before spending on 75 other players.
Barcelona ended the year with five titles to their name including the FIFA Club World Cup Title. They beat South American River Plate at the Yokohoma Stadium in Japan to claim the title. The Champion’s league winner started the year with a 0-0 draw against Espanyol in the Barcelona derby.
Luis Enrique seemed optimistic about Barcelona’s La Liga campaign, too. The signings have made Barcelona even more intimidating now.
