The notable absence of Thor during the Avengers’ civil war raised questions about which faction the god of thunder would have chosen. Yet would he have taken a side or would Team Thor to go up against Captain America and Iron Man?

“Thor: Ragnarok” director Taika Waititi weighed in on the issue of team Iron Man or team Cap. Waititi surmised the emergence of team Thor.

“We’ve talked a little bit about this. Personally, I feel Thor would have started his own team. He wouldn’t have liked the idea of those teams. But, even though Thor is from outer space and he lives in a palace, part of me likes to think he would side with Cap. I would side with Cap purely because I don’t trust billionaires,” Screen Rant quoted Waititi’s response in an interview with Fandango.

His theory might tie in with the recent remarks that “Thor 3” actors had about the latest “Captain America” film. Chris Hemsworth also had choice words about his character’s exclusion from the movie as posted on Walt Disney Studios’ Facebook page.

While the presence of a team Thor in “Avengers 3” might be speculation among fans, an earlier revelation by the Russo brothers could prove promising, Movie Pilot wrote. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo revealed which characters they’re excited to work with in “Infinity War.”

“I’m excited to work with Thor. They’re doing some really interesting stuff with ‘Ragnarok’ and where he’s gonna be at the beginning of ‘Infinity War’ is gonna be a very interesting place and I think very profound. I think he’s gonna have a real emotional motivation after that,” the publication cited Joe Russo’s response to Comic Book.

This particular spoiler from Joe Russo would suggest that the god of thunder “ends up in the dimension of non-
existence he enters into at the end of the comic book Ragnarok,” the publication wrote. The “emotional motivation” mentioned by Joe Russo certainly adds greater interest to the fate of Asgard, the publication added. Hence, how would this affect Thor’s role in “Avengers 3?”
