Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to be earning big this year. Their highly-anticipated film “Avengers: Age of Ultron” has become one of the highest- grossing films of 2015. Meanwhile, Let’s find out who among the Avengers got the highest salary worth $40 million.

According to Comic Book Movie, the one that got the fattest check among the Avengers is no other than Iron Man himself- Robert Downey Jr. He got a relatively huge amount of $40 million for portraying the billionaire superhero.

The site also noted that Robert Downey Jr. was hailed ‘the highest paid actor’ by Forbes two years ago, and the revelation seems to be expected.

Also, the site was able to reveal the Avengers’ salaries as well. Hollywood’s finest actress- Scarlett Johansson earned $20 million for playing as The Black Widow. The remaining superheroes- Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk earned $6.9 M, $6.1 M, $5.4 M and $2.8 M respectively.

On the other hand, we can all notice the large gap between RDJ’s and Ruffalo’s paycheck. Cinema Blend believed that might be the reason why the Hulk is always angry- aside from allegedly leaving the movie franchise.

More than that, they also seemed to justify Johansson’s earnings on the movie. Being one of the Avengers’ oldest members, the actress has a “prolific resume outside the MCU” as well. The Black Widow was introduced in “Iron Man 2” in 2010 and played a significant role in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

Notably, Johansson and her character has not been debuted in a standalone film yet. However, the source also cited that “Black Widow have become essential to the very fabric of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and her earnings most certainly show it,” as we quote.

Let’s keep an eye on the latest news regarding their upcoming film “Captain America: Civil War.”
