Everyone is waiting with bated breath for “Avatar 2.” While everyone is still debating the release date, word on the street is that the sequel will further explore the relationship between Neytiri and Jake Sully.

James Cameron had made it clear that “Avatar 2” will see oceans of Pandora. As a result, a new ecosystem is being developed. With the story moving towards the waters, Jake and Neytiri will be meeting many new characters. Now, Movie News Guide has revealed that scenes from the Mariana Trench have been captured using special technology. Challenger Deep is the deepest point in the Mariana Trench which has inspired Pandora’s oceans.

The sequel will also explore Jake and Neytiri’s relationship as well as focus on the clash between humans and Na’vi. According to Breathecast, the couple will take their relationship to the next level and get married in the sequel. However, like other regular couples, these two will have their own share of relationship struggles. They will also be trapped in a war between humans and Na’vi.

ANN had reported that “Avatar 2” is being shot as part of a larger story and not just a standalone sequel. This means that the studio will not set a release date for “Avatar 2” until it is sure that the other parts too are set for release.

StarMineNews reports that “Avatar’s” lead pair will be back for the sequel. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana will reprise their roles as Jake Scully and Neytiri. Miles Quaritch will play the antagonist yet another time for the sequel.

Cameron had explained to The Montreal Gazette that technical preparations for shooting the Avatar sequel are over and the team is poised to start already. If everything goes as scheduled “Avatar” 2 will hit the theaters somewhere between December 2017 and the next year. It will be followed by “Avatar 3” and “Avatar 4.”
