Australia will host India in the 2nd T20 International at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on Friday, Jan. 29, starting 7:10 PM local time.
India registered a convincing victory over the Aussies at Adelaide as the hosts were restricted to a 37-run defeat. Chasing a total of 189 in 20-overs, the Australian batsmen collapsed mid-way to hand India a lead in the three-match T20 series.
According to Betting Betfair reports, Chris Lynn and Travis Head of Big Bash fame had little role to play in the crushing defeat as the hosts were humbled by the Indian exceptional spin bowling.
Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and T20 specialist Ravindra Jadeja turned the game in their favor after they got a good start in the first 10-overs. Virat Kohli made a quick-fire 90, continuing his dream run on the Australian tour.
Glenn Maxwell could make a comeback in the 2nd T20 and will replace Shane Watson. Australian 17-man squad will give them enough opportunity to rotate their players.
As per the ESPN Cric Info reports, Steve Smith was caught in the middle of mic-controversy when he was doing live commentary on-field with the Channel 9 commentators. Critics believed that the ongoing chat might have distracted Smith which proved to be a turning point in the match.
