Micahel Fassbender’s upcoming “Assassins Creed” movie has been making all the headlines recently. The Oscar–nominee recently said that he has been playing Ubisoft’s historical fiction-action-adventure series “to get the action sequences perfected.”

“I hadn’t played it before these guys approached me,” Fassbender revealed to EW. He was further quoted in saying:

“I’ve played it since mainly to get an idea of the physicality of the character. We’re striving to find something special. We believe the whole concept around it is special and want to service that the best we can. The fans are really passionate: very specific and they expect accuracy and historical detail. We’re working hard to make this something special.”

Looks like his hard work is paying off as Empire Magazine has released exclusive photos of Fassbender’s fight scenes. He is pictured in both the roles he is going to play, one as Callum Lynch and the other as his ancestor Aguilar.

The first picture shows Fassbender as Aquilar, the 15th century swordsman in Spain that belongs to an order of deadly Assasins.

The second is Callum Lynch, the modern-day descendant of Aguilar who relives the memories of his ancestors via a virtual reality machine known as ‘Animus’.

Fassbender, who is producing this video game adaptation with Ubisoft Motion Pictures, has recruited several of his crew members from ‘Macbeth’. Director Justin Kurzel, screenwriter Michael Lesslie, and cinematographer Adam Arkapaw are all a part of this film together with Marion Cotillard, who was his co-star in the Shakespeare play adaptation.

The team look determined to give the huge fan following of the most successful game in the history of video games its due credit. The game has sold over 73 million copies together with comic books, novels and 20 series related titles.

The movie is set for a December 21, 2016 release.
