The new image of “Assassin’s Creed” is predicting a ripple effect worldwide.

The upcoming movie  “Assassin’s Creed” will possibly be the most successful ones of recent time.  It is an adaptation of the Ubisoft’s popular video game series.  Since the movie is taking its own sweet time to hit the theaters, we can say that the “Assassin’s Creed” is an attempt to prove that even game movies can be an equally respected genre.  Lately game-based movies like “Angry Birds,” “Nights At Freddy’s” and “Minecraft” have left a huge impact on the audience.

A handful of images from the movie is  disclosing that Michael Fassbender  is playing Callum Lynch in the modern-day and Aguilar de Nerha in the past, quoted Screenrant.

Yahoo  also debuted Fassbender’s look in “Assassin’s Creed,” and the character of Callum was created specifically for the film. However, this time the story won’t be repeating any of the video game characters’ story arcs. It will rather introduce new characters to this world.

Screenrant says “Assassin’s Creed” features Fassbender as Callum Lynch. Callum is a modern-day character who time-travels using a technology called “The Animus,” to explore the life of his 15th century Spanish ancestor Aguilar de Nerha. “The Animus” is a machine created by Abstergo that can allow one to experience again the lives of his ancestors.

While the previous image of Lynch on Screenrant showed him imprisoned, the newly released image is showing the character drawing one of a series of  images that bear a mysterious resemblance to figures from the past.

We can expect a quick look of other actors as well, in the long-awaited trailer on March 25. Some other casts are Brendan Gleeson (In the Heart of the Sea), Jeremy Irons (Abstergo CEO Alan Rikkin), Michael Kenneth Williams (Boardwalk Empire), Ariane Labed (The Lobster).

“Assassin’s Creed” releasing in U.S. theaters on Dec. 21.
