Popular fan theories are going viral on the Internet with regards to leaked photo and last seconds of the “Arrow” last episode. Based on those, some fans have theorized that Felicity Smoke might become Oracle.
Felicity, played by Emily Bett Rickards, would wind up at least temporally paralyzed and eventually become Oracle. The wheelchair-using, tech-savvy alter ego character typically assigned to DC Comics’ Barbara Gordon, TVLine noted.
In an interview with TVLine, executive producer Wendy Mericle however cleared the rumors regarding Felicity’s fate.
She said: “That’s something we definitely talked about [doing] with Felicity in the beginning…. But yeah, it will not be Oracle, sadly. People have to tune in to see what happens.”
Perhaps Rickards’s character will be permanently in a wheelchair after Damien Dhark’s goons pumped her and Ollie’s limousine with bullet holes, but she may not use the codename “Oracle”, Digital Times wrote.
Amidst several spoilers and leaks, Marc Guggenheim told IGN what fans should expect in the second half of the season including a twist coming up with this season’s Big Bad.
“We’re going to do something that’s never been done before on Arrow with the Big Bad. 15 is a real game-changer episode for us,” he said.
“The back half of the season, we’re pretty much following the same structure that we have in seasons past where obviously the Big Bad gears up. That said, we’re going to throw a hard six in episode 15 that I think will surprise people,” Guggenheim added.
Guggenheim did clarify as well that the “twist” is not a character death but something to do with the Big Bad for “Arrow” current season.
“Arrow” season four returns on Jan. 20.
