Aquaman is heading to Australia before the year ends and will possibly join the production of Thor 3 movie Down Under.

DC and Warner Bros have yet to make an official announcement of Aquaman production in Australia. Comic Book, however, assumed that filming might take place at the Village Roadshow Studios in Queensland. The studio has the largest film water tank in the country, the site noted.

Thor: Ragnarok, on the other hand, is currently filming in Australia. Chris Hemsworth’s starring movie has started production a few months ago. In fact, Mark Ruffalo, who is playing The Hulk, is done filming his scenes.  Nonetheless, the filming of the two Marvel movies might take place in the same location.

According to Daily Telegraph, Aquaman will go into pre-production in Australia before Christmas and is expected to start filming next year. Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe will be Down Under for the production. The publication also mentioned Michael Kenneth Williams might also play the role of Black Manta.

In August, rumors broke that Black Manta would be the villain in the Aquaman movie. When Williams heard the news, he volunteered himself for the role.  The actor has a pretty impressive acting portfolio. He has starred in TV series The Wire, Boardwalk Empire and is currently on The Night Of.  He also appeared in 12 Years a Slave and will also be seen in Assassin’s Creed in December.

Aquaman director James Wan has already denied reports that William will portray the movie villain.  He noted though that Williams is a “terrific actor.”

Black Manta is a normal human being without any super powers. However, he has abilities that include enhanced strength and endurance because of his suit.

Jason Momoa will be featured as Arthur Curry, a.k.a. Aquaman, in the movie. The superhero first made his debut in the recent DC movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Heard will be playing Mera, while Willem Dafoe will portray Nuidis Vulko.

Aquaman will debut in theaters in July 27, 2018. Thor 3, on the other hand, will premiere on November 3, 2017.
