The wait for HTC One M8 and One M9 users ends since the Android 6 Marshmallow treat is coming their way this month.
According to report on Phone Arena, in a week’s time T-Mobile subscribers possessing an HTC One M8 device will begin to receive Android 6 Marshmallow through an OTA update. This could be their final major software update after Android Lollipop. The word comes straight from HTC’s VP of Product Management, Mo Versi who shared these details on Twitter. He mentioned that 25th January is the target date for the dissemination of the latest OS.
There is some sweet news for Sprint’s HTC One M9 users as well; the Android 6 Marshmallow update should also be making its way onto their phones sometime this week. Versi responded to an inquiry on Twitter about the arrival of Android 6 Marshmallow for HTC One M9 on Sprint. Customers of Canadian carriers Sasktel, Rogers, Wind, and Videotron using HTC One M9, should also begin receiving the update starting today. While the wait has been a tad bit longer, there is a lot of Marshmallow sweetness going around for HTC users now.
Great news for our Sasktel, Rogers, Wind and Videotron HTC One M9 owners! We'll go live on Monday for the Marshmallow OS update. Thank you!

The latest OS brings with it some really neat features such as Doze and Google Now on Tap. The former prolongs battery life by putting the phone is deep sleep mode when it’s not in use. Google Now on Tap displays search result according to the content on the screen at the time when the search is being made. The new update also gives users the liberty to grant or deny access to apps on a feature-by-feature basis.
Users should note that before they begin to download and install the latest Marshmallow OS on their devices, they should make sure that they have taken a backup and that the handset is on a Wi-Fi network with a minimum 50% of battery life.
