“America’s Got Talent” 2016 appears to be off to a good start with a surprise audition that certainly got everyone’s attention.
Auditions are underway for the 11th season of the popular talent/variety competition on television. Prior to its premiere on May 31, a sneak peek at one of this year’s hopefuls would point at a promising show for judges and viewers alike.
Linkin’ Bridge debuted on the stage of “America’s Got Talent,” Carter Matt reported. Admittedly, their attire led many to presume that a rap was forthcoming. However, the boys showed greater talent that certainly blew away expectations.
The expression on the face of Howie Mandel likely mirrored the sentiments of many in the audience as Linkin’ Bridge walked in. Simon Cowell took the lead and asked the boys why they were at “America’s Got Talent.” Echo revealed it was because of their “big dreamer” that they got together to do it, Enstarz wrote.
The look of hesitation that flashed on Mel B’s face disappeared the moment the boys began singing. Without warning, Linkin’ Bridge performed an acapella rendition of “Over the Rainbow” that left the judges in awe, the publication described. Cowell’s eyes opened wide and Heidi Klum let out an “Oh, wow.” Show host Nick Cannon also gave his approval to their performance as he pointed to them on and lauded their ability to sing.
The sneak peek didn’t reveal Linkin’ Bridge’s fate with the judges. However, given the applause and look of amazement on everyone’s faces four yeses would have been likely, the publication surmised. Hence, it would be safe to assume that dreams “really do come true,” the publication added.
Cowell created “America’s Got Talent” for NBC a decade ago, AJC reported. However, this is the first time the British celebrity appears as a judge on the show. Given his reputation for “eating up” contestants, the show’s judges welcomed Cowell with a bit of humor in “Simon of the Lambs.”
The upcoming season promises more surprises with Louis Tomlinson joining the judges’ panel as well. Watch Linkin’ Bridge perform “Over the Rainbow” on “America’s Got Talent” 2016.
