“Marvel’s Most Wanted” is already happening with a pilot expected to air later in 2016. The pilot will focus on the spy couple Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) and Bobby Morse (Adrianne Palicki). A new clip from the upcoming episode of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” hints at how the two characters will branch off to their own series.
The new clip from this week’s episode entitled “Parting Shot” shows Agent Bobbi Morse in custody and being interrogated by a Russian official who informs her that “three highly decorated members of the Russian government” were “murdered in cold blood, on Russian soil,” and adds cryptically “by former S.H.I.E.L.D agents.” He then asks her why she is in Siberia, to which she replies “I’d like a cheeseburger, medium …” The clip can be seen on Screenrant.
IGN notes that “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” had already begun preparing the viewers for setting up the spin-off series “Marvel’s Most Wanted” from the March 15 episode entitled “The Inside Man.” Lance Hunter and Bobby Morse are now being separated from the core S.H.I.E.L.D team. The fact that the Russian interrogator utters the word “former S.H.I.E.L.D agents” means that Hunter and Morse could have already gone rogue by the time “Parting Shot” airs.
“I think, at the end of the day, Hunter is very independent-minded,”actor Nick Blood told IGN during a recent visit of the latter to the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s set. “He’s not going to be forced out or forced into anything either; he’s going to make his own choice. So yeah, I guess for a while he’s played the game and then various things have come up which make him again question it. And it’s not necessarily like he’s saying that people are doing something wrong, it’s just not his way.”
Blood also talked about how being away from the prying eyes of S.H.I.E.L.D helps Hunter and Morse to work on their relationship. “This is an opportunity where they’re on their own, they can make up their own rules, just turn their phones on airplane mode and ignore the calls from back home,” the actor said.
“I think Hunter’s probably the one that’s more inclined to put focus on their future and their relationship, whereas Bobbi kind of sees the greater good as a more important focus for her. I think when they’re off on their own together, you see how they compliment each other. Without the distractions of SHIELD or other people, they compliment each other,” Nick Blood added.
“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” which is a spin-off from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, centres on Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). Gregg, last month, hinted at a possible connection with the TV series and Marvel’s forthcoming “Captain America: Civil War.”
