Record-breaking artist, Adele, has revealed that she had to quit her long, 25-a-day cigarette routine because she feared it would kill her.

Since her new album “25” launched, Adele has been the talk of the town with “Hello” being one of the most watched videos of 2015. She has been on a health streak ever since this album, and the 8 million worldwide sales only say that her life is heading towards the right direction.

In a recent interview though, she told The Mirror that “If I’d carried on smoking I’d probably have died from a smoking-related illness and I think that’s really bad.

“If I was dying from lung cancer I would have potentially given it to myself and that wouldn’t be something I’d be proud of.’

Adele, a mum to toddler son Anglelo, has realized that the thought of dying has made her curb the ill fated habit of smoking for so many years.

Adele had a huge setback in 2011 when she had to get a throat surgery done. Doctors revealed that her career could be over if she didn’t stop smoking right away. Her love for beer and cigarettes had to be cut short as this risky throat surgery was a moment of realization for the British singer/songwriter.

In an attempt to get healthier, Adele has been constantly hitting the gym and eating less sugar to keep her body and mind rolling. Since she has picked up this heavy duty work out routine, Adele has looked fitter than ever, and her music also seems to be hitting all the right notes.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, she said: “(It’s) to get in shape for myself, but not to be a size zero or anything like that.”

She added: “I’m not, like, skipping to the f**king gym. I don’t enjoy it. I do like doing weights.

“I don’t like looking in the mirror. Blood vessels burst on my face really easily, so I’m so conscious when I’m lifting weights not to let them burst in my face.”
