Few days before she finally drops her official album, “25,” British singer Adele teased a new song from her album, “When We Were Young.” If “Hello” brought you chills, prepare yourselves for another breathtaking song from the British singer.

The teaser video was posted by 60 minutes Australia on their Twitter account to preview their soon-to-be broadcasted interview with the British singer. In the preview clip, the show noted how the British singer continues to smash music records.

Adele invited the show into her studio where she sang a powerful rendition of her new song, “When We Were Young.” As mentioned on MTV, the British singer even raised a finger to the sky when she hit a high note. The song then headed to a “goosebump-worthy verse.”

The lyrics from the song heard on the teaser video clip:

“Let me photograph you in this light in case it is the last time/ That we might be exactly like we were before we realized/ We were sad of getting old, it made us restless/ Oh, I’m so mad I’m getting old it makes me reckless/ It was just like a movie, it was just like a song/ When we were young”

Before the video clip ended, Adele said, “it’s a whole new me.”

In an interview with the Rolling Stone, Adele admitted that this song was her favourite track. The song was an “Elton John-ish ballad” which she wrote together with singer-songwriter Tobias Jesso, Jr. This track is reported to have been inspired by Barbra Streisand’s song “The Way We Were” which brought tears to Adele.

“I’ve had a lot of regrets since I turned 25. And sadness hits me in different ways than it used to,” Adele said.

According to the site, “When We Were Young” is just one of the songs from her album which deal about her yearning for her old self.
