David Beckham has been named as 2015 People magazine “Sexiest Man Alive.”

On the “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Kimmel revealed this year’s sexiest man on Earth.

Beckham’s face has been obscured and his voice altered when he appeared on the show and answered some questions from the audience while they try to guess his identity.

Although the British soccer star has been considered as one of the sexiest celebrities for nearly two decades, the audience quite struggled at first to guess his identity.

Beckham was asked if he is an actor, played superhero, a member of a boy band or if he ever been the subject of a Taylor Swift song. In all of the questions, his answers were no.

According to Chicago Tribune, Beckham broke pop culture barriers as the first athlete in the 30-year history of People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” title.

“It’s the best moment of my career,” Beckham joked on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

“I would obviously like to thank my parents for bringing me into this world, of course. I would like to thank my hairdresser, my stylist (and) Photoshop,” he added.

The 40-year-old English Football Hall of Famer told People that he hardly thinks of himself as a sex symbol, but that he was “pleased to accept” the title.

In this week’s cover story, the father of four said: “I never feel that I’m an attractive, sexy person. I mean I like to wear nice clothes and nice suits and look and feel good, but I don’t ever think of myself that way.”

Beckham added that his wife, Victoria Beckham, approved the new honor given to him.

“I would hope that she feels this way about me all the time anyway!” he said.

Beckham dethroned “Avengers” star Chris Hemsworth, who was crowned as ‘Sexiest Man Alive” last year.

USA Today wrote among top contenders for this year’s number one spot are “Beasts of No Nation” actor Idris Elba, “Jurassic World” star Chris Pratt, and “The Martian” actor Matt Damon.

Beckham joined the ranks of past honorees, including Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper, Channing Tatum, Adam Levine, and Denzel Washington.

People’s edition of “Sexiest Man Alive” with Beckham on cover will hit newsstands on Friday (Nov 20).
