Zayn Malik has been making headlines ever since he left One Direction. Now, the boy band member-turned-solo artist still captures anyone’s attention with his upcoming album, “Mind of Mine.” It is rumoured that some One Direction fans “hated” the lad’s new solo material.
“Mind of Mine” was released on March 25 and became massive upon the debut, notes Inquistr. While it may not be a total hate, the website stated that some 1D fans were shocked about the contents of the album.
According to the source, his first full-length LP contains more adult lyrical contents and more “musically sophisticated” than he did with his former group. Aside from the R&B vibe, some of the songs are about sex, alcohol and “other adult behaviors” combined with a bit of profanity.
The singer, who wanted to be called as Zayn revealed on The New Yorker his inspiration about his preferred sound. “Would you listen to One Direction at a party with your girl? I wouldn’t. If I was sat at a dinner date with a girl, I would play some cool s**t, you know what I mean?”
His latest hit, “Pillowtalk” has been bagging success by claiming the top spot in most of the countries. The former One Direction lad appears to be more successful after leaving the group.
And while the success of the single continues to dominate the music industry, fans are wondering what happened to his another alleged single, “Befour,” which was teased during his interview with Fader.
As for the album, “Mind of Mine” reportedly got positive reviews. The New York Times stated that Zayn reclaimed himself after his shocking exit on March 25 of last year.
The online publication praises his unreleased single “Flower,” which they said is sung in Urdu, the native language of Mr. Malik’s father. A part of the translated lyrics goes like “Until the flower of this love has blossomed until this heart is at peace. Then, three times, he pleads, Give me your heart.”
