Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens met, starred, and fell in love on the set of “High School Musical.” Sadly, their relationship wasn’t meant to be and they eventually parted ways. However, with the confirmation of the franchise sequel, would the once reel and real couple get back together for another TV movie?
Anticipation over the news of “High School Musical 4” is high ever since its announcement in March. Speculations are rife about the return of its notable alums namely Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale. The Parent Herald wrote that Tisdale is the most likely to return. The publication based this assumption on the current plot that includes a cousin of her character, Sharpay Evans.
Rumours of Tisdale’s appearance remain unconfirmed although the actress earlier said she was done playing the role of Sharpay after doing it for four times, Radar Online wrote before.
Among the show’s alums, Zac Efron expressed an interest sometime ago to do a “High School Musical” reunion movie. In an interview with E! News in 2014, the actor revealed that it’s something the guys from the show think about when they get together.
However, his busy schedule could be a problem. The publication recalled that Efron is in the middle of shooting “Baywatch.” He’s also working on the follow-up to “Neighbors.”
Meanwhile, Vanessa Hudgens is also busy these days on the set of the new superhero sitcom “Powerless,” Mail Online reported. To date, neither Efron nor Hudgens has come forward to confirm their participation in “High School Musical 4.” Considering Hudgens’ relief at Efron’s absence at the show’s 10th-year reunion special, that might indicate her stance on “High School Musical 4.”
Following casting calls for the fourth instalment of the popular musical, Just Jared Jr. revealed a front-runner for one of the three female lead roles. Meet Merit Leighton. The 13-year-old previously appeared in “Sofia the First” as Lucinda.
