Smartwatch is the next big thing following the VR trend. Apple and Samsung are already into the smartwatch market. It appears that Xiaomi is planning to debut next month or in the coming months.

It is well known that Xiaomi is organizing an event on May 10, which will see some of the new products and software launches. The event is expected to showcase the Xiaomi Max and Mi Band 2. Following which MIUI 8 is also tipped to be unveiled.

The word comes that the Chinese company will be adding another category in its flagship devices. Mi Smartwatch is expected to make its mark after the upcoming event.

The speculations started after the co-founder and VP of Xiaomi, Liu De mentioned it at the Beijing conference. He said the Mi Smartwatch is ready to make its presence in the market, Slash Gear.

If rumours are to be believed, the wearable will the shelf in the second half of 2016. This means Smartwatch will not make its presence on the May 10 for it has been delayed a bit.

Xiaomi and Huami have partnered to build the wearable and the later company has reported the delay of the device. However, Xiaomi had launched a smartwatch for kids recently for 299 yuan, and the Mi Band for adults.

For the Mi smartwatch has been officially confirmed we can expect the specs and feature of the smartwatch soon. It appears that the details regarding the device will not be kept as secret as the company has announced it. We can expect the details on May 10 as reported by Gizmo China.

De has also confirmed that the company is focusing on offline outlets this year, which means retail stores will launch in China, however, the exact location is not indicated as of now.
