Following Mi Max Phablet and MIUI 8 OS announcement, the Xiaomi is apparently planning to launch more devices in the coming weeks.
A press conference was organised in China recently and the company announced MIUI update and it seems that Xiaomi Drone will be announced before the end of this month. This news was confirmed by CEO Lei Jun recently, and he has just shared more info on the Mi Band 2 fitness tracker, notes Android Headlines.
Jun has officially confirmed his news regarding the Mi Band 2 launch which is scheduled for early June. He had also shared the first real life image revealing the design of the device and he has also cited that the band will not be launched alongside Xiaomi’s Phablet and OS update.
Jun cited the reason behind the delay is a production issue, which leaves us assuming that it will arrive on the market in early June. Moreover, he has also hinted that we won’t have to wait for long to see fitness tracker become a reality.
Unlike its predecessors, Mi Band 2 will have the ability to show users various fitness-related information as well as the time on its display, according to GSM Arena.
Leaks even suggest that users can also control Xioami’s drone using this fitness tracker, however, it is still uncertain how accurate it is. A silicon band will be used in Mi Band 2 as per the leaks but it won’t differ much from the Mi Band and Mi Band 1s fitness trackers.
It is expected that the Mi Band 2 will have an affordable price tag as both the Mi Band and Mi Band 1s were priced below $20. However, it remains to be seen what would be the pricing of the Mi Band 2 in the end.
