The Chinese smartphone-maker Xiaomi has recently launched the much-awaited flagship Xiaomi Mi 5, and reviewers are of the opinion that the Mi 4 successor is a power-packed device. While, the Huawei made Nexus 6P was unveiled during the end of the last year that had metallic body and good Android experience. So both devices are pitted against each other in categories like price, specs and features pertaining to Mi 5 and 6P.
Display and Design
The Xiaomi Mi 5 sports a 5.1-inch IPS LCD display that offers a pixel resolution of 1, 080×1920, while the Nexus 6P has a AMOLED 5.7-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels QHD resolution, protected by Gorilla Glass 4.
Huawei made Google Nexus 6P has full metal chassis with chamfered edges and the infamous antenna bands were hidden in an aesthetic way, notes Trusted Reviews. Due to its slightly curved rear panel you can hold comfortably.
On the other hand Xioami Mi 5 has a metal frame running through the corners and with a glossy glass back. The either edges of the device are chamfered and have near-zero bezels on the sides of the display. The device weighs lesser than the Nexus 6P, cites The Verge.
Hardware and Software
The Nexus 6P is powered by Snapdragon 810 SoC, whereas the Xiaomi Mi 5 has the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset. This has already topped the benchmark test rankings.
Both Nexus 6P and Xiaomi Mi 5 has 3GB RAM, but the Mi 5 top-end 128 GB variant has 4GB of RAM. However, both devices run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
The Nexus 6P proffers stock Android experience, while Xiaomi Mi 5 has its own MIUI 7.
Battery and Camera
The Nexus 6P is packed with a good 3,450 mAh battery unit, while the Xiaomi Mi 5 holds a relatively lesser 3,000 mAh cell, but both handsets have non-removable battery units.
In terms of Camera, a 16MP rear camera is included and features like OIS and dual-LED flash are also incorporated. Nexus 6P have a 12.3MP snapper with dual LED flash, while on the front side an 8MP camera is located. Xiaomi Mi 5 have 4MP shooter as the front-facing camera.
Price and Availability
Google’s Nexus 6P costs US$499 for the 32GB storage model at the Google Store and the Xiaomi Mi 5’s 32GB storage variant can be pre-ordered for US$439 via Gear Best. The prominent third-party vendor Gear Best starts shipping the ordered device on Apr.15 in U.S for free of charge.
Both Xiaomi Mi 5 and Nexus 6P arrives with fingerprint sensors, but it is located on different places. Nexus 6P has the sensor on the back panel while the Xiaomi Mi 5 has it on the home button. Type-C 1.0 reversible connector is incorporated on both devices.
