The Xiaomi Mi 5 device is expected to be introduced soon; speculations are rife that the smartphone may launch sometime before the Chinese New Year in February.
As the official unveiling of the handset inches closer, the rumors have increased in intensity. The latest word, according to the Chinese Website MyDrivers, is that the Xiaomi Mi 5 may arrive in two variants with one of them sporting a metal chassis, while the other will adorn 2.D curved glass panels on the front and back. It appears that both, the glass and the metal variants will possess a 5.2-inch display. However, the resolution on the former will be 1920 x 1080 and the latter will boast of a higher 2560 x 1440 resolution.
The leaked image of the Xiaomi Mi 5 shows the device with 2.5D curved glass on the front and the rear panel with a metal frame. Earlier, GSM Arena had got its hands on what is alleged to be an image of the Xiaomi Mi 5 premium model with the metal form factor.
As per report on TechRadar, the rumored spec sheet reveals 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage for the glass variant, while the higher-end model features 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. The handset will have a fingerprint scanner and it seems that the company may follow in the footsteps of Apple and Samsung by embedding a home bottom on the device, to fulfill that requirement.
It appears that the much awaited flagship will be packing in quite a punch. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is speculated to arrive powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 820 processor. As for the snappers onboard, it may feature a 16MP primary camera and a mean 13MP secondary camera for clicking those selfies. The handset will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and carrying a large 3,600mAh battery.
