The final “X Men: Apocalypse” trailer has just dropped, and it confirmed something fans have long been excited about. Wolverine will be back!
Actor Hugh Jackman earlier said “Wolverine 3” would be the next and last time he will play the clawed mutant. But fans still speculated that his character will at least make a cameo in “Apocalypse.” According to Collider, Jackman might have caved to what fans were hoping for. Wolverine will be in the upcoming “X Men” movie. And his role might just be bigger than a mere cameo.
In a separate report, Collider did say that the Aussie actor showed up for the “Apocalypse” re-shoots. However, this info was only confirmed by the trailer. In the clip, Cyclops and Jean Grey were seen in what appears to be a military facility. Bodies of dead soldiers were seen strewn about. When Mystique comes in and comments on the body count, Cyclops tells her: “We had a little help.” The scene is then cut away to a shot of Wolverine popping his claws while a couple of soldiers charge at him. Will he be joining the battle against Apocalypse too?
Collider predicts that Jackman’s character will “likely shows up somewhere in the late-second, early third act” of the movie. Meanwhile, according to Cinema Blend, Wolverine would probably not be a central character in the movie.
For a decade and a half, Jackman has appeared on the big screen as Wolverine in seven films. These films include “X-Men,” “X2: X-Men United,” “X-Men: The Last Stand,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” “The Wolverine,” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” The actor also made an uncredited cameo in “X-Men: First Class.” You can catch Wolverine again in “X Men: Apocalypse.” It will hit theatres on May 27.
