“X-Men: Apocalypse” will feature a post-credits scene. This, the movie’s producer Simon Kinberg confirmed. Which character or characters would the scene feature? Will it tease the next few “X-Men” spin-offs, like the upcoming “Wolverine” sequel?

“It’s a nod toward potentially a lot of different movies,” Kinberg told Collider. “I mean certainly the ‘Wolverine’ movie is related to what happens at the end of it. But there’s also another character that’s introduced, at least in name, in the [post credits scene] and he could show up in any host of different ‘X-Men’ films. Maybe a ‘Gambit’ movie, maybe another ‘X-Men’ movie.” What would happen to the clawed mutant at the end of the “Apocalypse” movie? Which character is going to be introduced after the credits? Fans will have to wait for the movie to hit theatres to find out. You can catch “X-Men: Apocalypse” when it hits theatres on May 27.

Meanwhile, it was earlier reported that “Wolverine 3” will have a tone different from other “X-Men” films. Kinberg himself confirmed the news. “It is an R-rated movie. It’s violent. It’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film,” the producer explained.

Cinema Blend said an R rating would probably be good for the iconic comic book hero’s third solo movie. “Wolverine is another member of the X-Men that would benefit from this creative freedom,” Cinema Blend said. The film blog said, that an R rating would allow the movie to show the character’s “acerbic and dry wit deployed in a…funnier manner.”  The title of the third “Wolverine” movie has yet to be confirmed. It will be the last time actor Hugh Jackman will take on the titular character. He has played Wolverine at least seven times before. “Wolverine 3” is set to be released on March 3, 2017.
