A new preview video of “X-Men Apocalypse” is making its rounds online, and filming seems to be heating up by the day.
The short sneak peak came from director Bryan Singer himself, showing what seems to be major destruction scene. Posted on his Instagram account, the clip showed a 360 degree look of the film set with burning rubles, a black helicopter, a green screen and the film crew.
According to Comic Book Resources, the set could be “the grounds of the X-Mansion and the age-old home of the X-Men is known for getting destroyed one or two or twenty times over the course of its comic career.”
The video seems to be part of Singer’s social media marketing ploy, to heighten the excitement for the new “X-Men” installment. The director has shared several clips and snaps of the film set and the cast members on his Instagram account.
Aside from the sneak peek, Singer has also confirmed that “X Men: Apocalypse” will be the conclusion of the previous movies and the start of a new era.
“This is kind of a conclusion of six ‘X-Men’ films, yet a potential rebirth of younger, newer characters,” Singer told Entertainment Weekly. “This is the true birth of the X-Men…This is how it happens.”
Aside from returning casts Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Professor Xavier), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), and Nicholas Hoult (Beast), new characters will be introduced in the movie as well, bringing in an even bigger list of stars. Oscar Isaac will play the role of Apocalypse, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Lana Condor as Jubilee, Ben Hardy as Angel, Alexandra Shipp as the younger Storm, Sophie Turner as young Jean Grey, and Tye Sheridan as Cyclops.
The film is expected to hit theaters on May 27, 2016. A 20th Century Fox Comic Con 2015 Panel is expected to release new details about the film this Saturday, July 11.
