New “X-Men: Apocalypse” photos have made their way online, and one features a scene suggesting a “snow storm” in Egypt.
According to IGN, it was the film’s director Bryan Singer who revealed the photograph.
With the film set in “Cairo, Egypt”, the photo shows actress Alexandra Shipp as Storm “surveying” Cairo, accompanied with stormy visual effects. Meanwhile, above its monitor we can see that Storm is only shooting behind a huge green screen.
Adding insight to Storm’s scene, Screen Rant described, “The above image may well hint at this struggle, with the character appearing apprehensive about her decisions, desires, and place in the ever-changing world – hence the (metaphorical?) storm clouds.”
“If anything, the photo reveals the grand size and scope of the film, especially on the back of Singer’s other posts, depicting both the X-Mansion and Cairo in ruins,” the source continued.
The site also noted Storm’s controversial involvement as one of the “Four Horsemen” in the upcoming film.
“Storm’s allegiance to the villain (mind control notwithstanding) is the most intriguing, considering her heroic destiny,” the site added.
The other Four Horsemen members are Angel/Archangel (Ben Hardy), Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender).
IGN also reported that new images of characters Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Jubilee (Lana Condor), and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) are circulating different sites.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” will kick off in theaters on May 27, 2016.
