“Deadpool” is currently crashing the worldwide box office. So, can we see more of this cheeky character in the upcoming Marvel movies such as the “X-Men: Apocalypse?”
X-Men producer Simon Kinberg earlier teased that “X-Men: Apocalypse” is the “biggest X-Men film” they have ever done. It can get even bigger by adding more superheroes.
Screenrant noted that with the time-travelling and future-altering events on the previous “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” the franchise has been given a rare opportunity to rework or alter key events within the X-Men universe. The site also noted that tweaking of key characters the upcoming “X-Men: Apocalypse” will change the X-Men universe.
Movie Pilot meanwhile quoted Kinberg saying: “The idea is that we’ve sort of reset the timeline after Days of Future Past in some ways, and if not erased, certainly allowed for change from X1, 2, 3, everything from Days of Future Past forward, 1973, everything we set now becomes canon.”
According to Movie Pilot, the timeline reset could mean that the preceding X-men films take place in a different timeline.

The site noted that continuity reset such as this is common to allow for fresh takes on classic characters, and opens up wider possibilities for storytelling. In addition, the reset allows the studio a good way to start introducing other characters from the books such as “Deadpool.”
Kinberg earlier hinted the Deadpool and Gambit have connection in “Days of Future Past.”
“The Gambit movie, the Deadpool movie, will exist in a world that acknowledges whatever happened in Days of Future Past and moving forward. Doesn’t mean they’ll always interact with those characters, obviously, it’s not like every movie has all the characters, but they all have to exist within the same rules,” he said.
“There will be interplay between different characters in different movies. We have a clear sense of the directions we want to take them in and in my mind at least, how we could start to cross-pollinate sort of with those characters that have their standalone movies,” Kinberg added.
So can we see the Merc with the Mouth in the upcoming “X-Men: Apocalypse?” We will find out soon when the movie debut on May 27, 2016.
We can take another hint in the latest issue of Empire, which featured a photograph taken by Sarah Dunn at San Diego Comic-Con last July that showed a star-studded picture including Ryan Reynolds, who played Wade Wilson, a.k.a Deadpool.
