‘X-Men Apocalypse’, ‘Deadpool’ Characters Crossover in X-Men Universe Photo

Marvel Comics

What happens when the X-Men, Deadpool and Gambit come together for a photo? All hell will break loose.

The latest issue of Empire features a photograph taken by Sarah Dunn at San Diego Comic-Con last July, with a background illustration by John Royle that makes for a highly star-studded picture.

First there’s Michael Fassbender who looks sharp as ever, then comes Channing Tatum who plays ‘Gambit’ followed, by Ryan Reynolds who will be playing Deadpool this year. The other big names from the X-Men franchise, Deadpool and Gambit make up the frame with Hugh Jackman, a clean shaven James McAvoy, Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse) and the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence who are all looking classy as always.

The photo looks very similar to the one Entertainment Weekly released back in July 2015. That photo included the cast of Josh Trank’s failed “Fantastic Four movie which included Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, and Jamie Bell.

This photo looks complete but it still has something missing. Donna Dickens of Hitfix points out that the image fails to include young Apocalypse mutants, and women of color, Storm (Alexandria Shipp) and Jubilee (Lana Condor).

Fox has managed to assemble some great young talent for their franchise in recent years. With such a star cast, the X-Men Universe idea is still not far off. It will all depend on the successes of the three biggest movies of 2016 – X-Men: Apocalypse, Gambit and Deadpool.

From left to right, the photo features: T.J. Miller (Weasel); James McAvoy (Prof. Charles Xavier); Michael Fassbender (Magneto); Channing Tatum (Gambit); Ed Skrein (Ajax); Gina Carano (Angel Dust); Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique); Hugh Jackman (Wolverine); Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool); Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead); Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse); Evan Peters (Quicksilver); Nicholas Hoult (Beast); Olivia Munn (Psylocke).
