‘X Men Apocalypse’ Confirms ‘Wolverine 3’; Last Hugh Jackman Movie?

Hugh Jackman confirmed that there will be “Wolverine 3” but also hinted that this might be his last of the Marvel beloved character.

The Australian actor joined the “X-Men: Apocalypse” panel during the annual San Diego Comic Con in California on Saturday. Jackman, 46, teased that he may play “Old Man Logan” when he reprises the role in the next Wolverine installment.

As the panel showed the Wolverine teaser poster, Jackman said, “I’ve got three words for you guys: Old Man Logan … That’s all I’m saying. Read into it what you will.”

“Old Man Logan” is the name of a famous storyline from 2008 that was set in a distant future in which Marvel villains have taken over the world, AVclub.com described.

The site added that Logan has already started a family and became a farmer in the story. But when he run into a band of inbred Hulks, Wolverine had no choice but to join forces with the elderly version of Hawkeye from ‘The Avengers”.

Aceshowbiz quoted Jackman as saying, “As I promised, this next time is my last time putting on the claws, it’s one last time.”

The Wolverine star played the clawed mutant seven times in the span of more than 15 years.

Jackman added, “Playing the legend that is Wolverine has been the greatest part of my life. I’m here today for one major reason, and that’s to thank the fans … You’ve always been there, and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

The actor also reminisced the time he audition for the role of Wolverine and shared that he didn’t even have an agent when he auditioned for the Marvel franchise.  “That was the moment that changed my life forever,” he said.

“X Men Apocalypse” will hit theaters in March 2017.

Meanwhile, Hugh is also busy promoting his new Peter Pan movie. Jackman plays the pirate Blackbeard in the movie “Pan” which will be released in cinemas in Australia in September.
