“X Factor” UK bids goodbye to judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini. Her departure comes after only two years of rejoining the show.
She decided to pull out of the show before “being pushed out”, the Mirror reported.
“Cheryl was in talks to return to The X Factor this year but there were a number of hurdles in her way and it was not a straight forward that she would rejoin,” an “X Factor” source revealed.
Despite her friendship with Simon Cowell, other people did not want her back.
It’s been revealed that the show was considering other female judges. The website noted the possibility of Sharon Osbourne’s return.
The source also mentioned that Versini did not want to work with Louis Walsh.
Given these obstacles, Versini opted out of negotiations. However, the source made it clear that Versini was not under contract.
“… so you can’t really quit a job you don’t have yet,” the source remarked.
Still sources close to Versini insist she “quit”, the website noted.
Sources also revealed that Versini told Simon Cowell about her plan to focus on her music and a new relationship with One Directioner Liam Payne.
She originally joined “X Factor” UK in 2008, Digital Spy recalled. But she left when her supposed involvement in the show’s US expansion fell through in 2011.
Though she will no longer be part of the judges’ panel, Versini reportedly wants to stay on as a producer of “X Factor” UK. She also promises a live performance once her new music is ready for promotion.
Earlier news revealed that Cheryl Fernandez-Versini wanted to leave the show after 4th Impact got the boot. However, at the time, it was only for a brief respite with ex-husband Jean-Bernard in France.
This time, her withdrawal from “X Factor” UK would give more time to spend with Payne, who calls her “my favourite woman in the world”.
Her friend and former “X Factor” boss Simon Cowell confirmed they’re “madly in love”. In a separate post, the Mirror quoted Cowell’s reaction to their relationship.
“I saw them together and we had a really nice dinner. They were on good form. They’re like two little chipmunks madly in love. Literally, they were so cute.”
