Filipino-Australian Cyrus Villanueva made it to the Top 6 of “X Factor” Australia as another contestant was eliminated last night.
Villanueva is moving up to the next round and has thanked his supporters with a tweet after last night’s elimination round.
Judges were impressed by Villanueva’s version of Adele’s “Rumor Has It” during the Trailblazer-themed show last Monday, Rappler reported.
Cyrus’ mentor Chris Isaak was moved and was nearly in tears after Villanueva’s performance, the International Business Times reported.
“X-Factor Australia” fans did not let this pass and praised Isaak for showing his emotions.

Isaak told the aspiring singer how proud he was of him. In response, Villanueva told his mentor: “As long as he’s proud of me, I know I’ve done a good job.”
Judge James Blunt also had good words for Villanueva. “You are a pop star. Move over Justin Bieber,” the British musician said.
Judge Guy Sebastian, who was also all praises for Cyrus, said: “We want to feel like we’re watching a superstar. And you owned it, that was a massive comeback.” Sebastian was referring to Villanueva’s rock performance last week which was criticized by the judges.
“X-Factor Australia” viewers were also impressed with Villanueva’s “Rumour Has It” version.
Fans praised Villanueva’s performance and Isaak’s choice of song for his act.
