WWE seems to be celebrating the season of comebacks with speculations of the return of veteran superstars, including The Undertaker as well as Bill Goldberg for WWE Survivor Series 2016.
With the news of the return of Goldberg, fans are eagerly waiting to see their WWE star in the ring with an expected match between him and Brock Lesnar. Former WWE player Jim Ross claimed that the veteran would be making his comeback to the industry sooner than expected.
The play-by-play man tweeted that the sports entertainment authorities were considering the return of Goldberg. He added that the match between the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Lesnar is likely to be scheduled for the WWE Survivor Series 2016 in November.
Furthermore, Ross said that the news is yet not confirmed but if the match happens, it would be held on November 20 in Toronto. “The big news is a couple rumors, and these are good sources, but it doesn’t mean they’re accurate. It just means that they have been reliable in the past,” Ross said on his podcast.
“Rumor one: Bill Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar. Yes, that’s seriously being discussed, according to the sources. When? I don’t know. Could it be as early as Survivor Series? It might be. Could it be penciled in for WrestleMania? That would be my choice.”
A media outlet reported Dave Meltzer saying on Wednesday that the match between Lesnar and Goldberg is “all but confirmed for WWE Survivor Series.” The WCW Champion appeared on ESPN’s WWE Off The Record segment on Wednesday.
Inquisitr stated that the SummerSlam show scheduled in August expected the return of Goldberg but the show went off the air as Lesnar laid out Randy Orton and Shane McMahon. Lesnar’s assault of Orton made the audiences shift their focus to Goldberg as the live crowd at New York’s Brooklyn chanted his name.
