Seth Rollins, who holds both the WWE World Heavyweight championship and the U.S Championship titles, is whetting his sword for a forthcoming rematch with John Cena in the WWE Night of Champions on the 20th of September.
Rollins had won the U.S championship belt after defeating Cena in a “Winner Takes All” match at Summerslam 2015 a couple of weeks ago.
Each of these superstars are crowd pullers and their battle is likely to be the most enjoyed event at the WWE Night of the Champions.
Cena held his U.S Championship tag for about five months and defended the title well. However, during a Monday Night RAW match against Rollins in July, Cena broke his nose when the latter hit him with a brutal Diving High-knee straight on to the Cenation gangleader’s face.
according to a report on Hollywood life.
Despite his serious injury, Cena successfully landed a cross-face lock on Rollins, compelling him to submit and lose the match. Cena had to rush for an emergency nose surgery after the match, WWE noted.
Rollins has since avenged his defeat a month later at WWE Summerslam 2015 in Brooklyn. As noted by the Washington Post, Summerslam event host and “The Daily Show” presenter, Jon Stewart, intervened into the match and hit Cena with a chair, helping Rollins to pedigree his opponent on the same chair and win the two precious titles.
According to Daily DDT, an alleged spoiler from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is making news. The source says that WWE is just about to promote a large bundle of new John Cena t-shirts with the U.S title. This could be an indication that Cena will win the match at WWE Night of the Champions.
Seth Rollins will fight two separate matches in the WWE Night of the Champions on 20th September at Toyota Center to retain both his titles. Apart from his match with Cena for the U.S Championship, he will reportedly combat Sting in defence of the World Heavyweight Championship he holds.
