Wrestling superstar John Cena made it to WWE News when it was revealed that he is taking a break from the sports world for quite some time. However, there is a buzz that his break will be more than expected. What is the reason behind John Cena’s extended break?
The legendary sportsman reportedly accepted another movie role. John Cena will take one of the two lead roles in Kay Cannon’s directorial debut movie ‘The Pact’. It is going to keep the 15-time world champion busy. Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz will share the screen with Cena in the said movie, learned Variety.
The synopsis of ‘The Pact’ reads: “Three parents who, upon discovering that their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginity on prom night, go out and try to stop them before it’s too late.” Reports have it that this upcoming project will keep Cena’s recent roll with comedy flicks going.
The 39-year-old wrestler is currently on hiatus due to filming the second season of FOX’s ‘American Grit’, and some publications revealed he is scheduled to return to the WWE at the end of December.
Earlier, it’s been rumored that Cena would be returning to the ring with the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in January. According to The Sun, two prominent names of WWE, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, have already announced their intention to participate at the event.
It looks like John Cena is also encashing his WWE popularity to build his movie career. He will be the second wrestler to have an established name in Hollywood after ‘The Rock’. In fact, Forbes has ranked Cena as the highest paid actor in the world in recent times. Impressive indeed!
However, in case John Cena decides to go ahead with his Hollywood career, it might become difficult for him to maintain a balance between his ring and reel life.
John Cena has been headlining the WWE News for so long. Thus, his more-than-expected absence from the ring seems weird. Don’t you agree?
