The UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey seems to be pretty tied up with a lot of things, including her upcoming flick “Mile 22” with Mark Wahlberg. But even if she’s been all over the place, fans can’t get enough of the unbeaten champ.
The 28-year old athlete had mesmerized the audience at the Levi’s Stadium during the WWE Wrestlemania 31 last year and rumors say she’ll be returning to the WWE ring soon.
The mixed martial artist was seen teaming up with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson when he was slapped by “The Authoity” member Stephanie Macmahon. Rousey went on to deliver a devastating Armbar lock to McMahon and her spouse Triple H. Wrestling lovers have been anticipating her return to the WWE ring eagerly since then.
According to Bleacher Report, Ronda was asked id she would return to the WWE ring soon, specifically at Wrestlemania 32. She replied, “I would love to, but I’m going to be in Jakarta filming my movie.”
While she probably won’t appear at Hell in a Cell, the 2016 PPV could be a perfect comeback for Rousey. She also didn’t completely shutdown the idea, saying, “If I was really going to be there, would you want to know, or would you want to be surprised? I think a real wrestling fan would want to be surprised.”
In August, the UFC champ also hinted at returning. During a Reddit Q&A, Rousey said she’s open to joining the WWE after she retires from the UFC.
“Definitely. I loved being in Wrestlemania and will find a way to get back in the squared circle I just have no clue when. And any real wrestling fan would want to be surprised anyway,” notes Wrestle Zone.
Rousey has been one of the most influential athletes of all time, adding several titles and credits to her name at such a young age. The UFC fighter had been in the news quite often, be it her nasty feud with American Professional Boxer Floyd Mayweather, wherein both had dissed each other on the media; or her association with Hollywood and WWE. She had featured in popular movies like “Furious 7” and “Entourage” recently.
American producer Damon Martin stated that it is quite possible that the dates of Wrestlemania and her new movie collide with each other, but he still expects her to make an entry in the WWE ring.
