Fans wanting more of “World War Z” will be delighted to hear that writer Steven Knight has already turned in his script for “World War Z 2.” Yes, the long-awaited sequel has indeed taken steps towards being the full-fleged movie.
The writer not only revealed to Collider that the first draft of the script is done, but he also shared his favorite bits about the movie. Knight also mentioned that the follow-ups initially started out with a blank slate, with no idea of where Brad Pitt’s character would go.
“I think the beauty of the first film was the way that it never paused for breath. It never spent a moment thinking, ‘Hang on a minute, we’d better tell the audience what this is all about.’ It stayed in the moment, it stayed with that person,” the writer revealed.
According to Cinema Blend, it will be interesting to see how Brad Pitt’s character, Gerry Lane, returns in the zombie-filled world and the direction the movie takes. Notably though, the movie will have all the energetic and enjoyable elements from the first part.
The site also added that hopefully “World War Z 2” features learnings lessons from the characters from the first movie. The plot should be carefully looked into since that’s the area where the “World War Z,” failed to make its mark.
“World War Z 2” faced a lot of production problems and with its release date, but the latter was forgotten as soon as it made a business of $540 million at the box office. It is still the highest grossing zombie movie and now it is time to see if “World War Z 2” will come close to the gross amount of the previous one at the box office.
